Something to Smile About in Meredith

A new dental office is under construction in Meredith and is expected to open in the summer of 2008.  The office is located just off the traffic circle at 9 Northview Drive (up the hill behind Energy Savers and Fitness Edge).  Dr. George Felt will move his practice to the new location as soon as it is ready (July?), and will announce the exact timing as the information becomes available.  Dr. Felt has made it known that the practice will adopt a new name in recognition of the move, and in the future will be known as “Meredith Dental, PLLC”.  The new office is said to enable state-of-the-art dental care in a comfortable setting.

“Meredith has become a destination that draws visitors for many reasons, among them personal healthcare services”, said Dr. Felt.  “Dr. Potter operated this practice for 32 years, and in the seven years since I have taken over the practice it has doubled in size.  People come from everywhere within an hour’s drive, and some from beyond that circle.  This growth has put a tremendous strain on the existing facility, and it has become necessary to move to larger quarters so we can accommodate the needs of our growing dental family”.

The project is being supervised by Bauen Corporation of Meredith, and they are working with local contractors (CST Carpentry and Seely Plumbing Heating and AC) and other New Hampshire based construction services.  BRADCO/Wickes Lumber has been most helpful in supplying materials for the job.  The pace of construction has been slowed due to winter weather, but the construction crew has proved that they can make good things happen even when the going gets tough.

Dr. Felt also said that he is grateful to the many representatives of the Town of Meredith who have participated in the planning, approvals, and building process.  “Without the support of Bob Flanders and John Edgar, we would still be talking about this instead of actually building it...” said Felt.  “The design and approval process was strict but fair, and it insures that everyone plays be the same rules.  The Town is wise to encourage controlled growth, and the Planning and Zoning Board members are to be commended for their service to the community in this regard.”  Dr. Felt also expressed his appreciation to Lakes Region General Hospital for their support during the transition.
